Hon’ble Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) was called on by Managing Director of Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam Vineet Tomar at Lok Bhawan, Nainital on Thursday. During the meeting, he briefed the Governor about various activities, tourism projects, infrastructure facilities, and human resource-related matters associated with KMVN.

Vineet Tomar informed the Governor that tourist footfall in the Kumaon region has increased following the visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to the area. He also stated that efforts are being undertaken to develop new tourist destinations across the region.

He further informed that initiatives are being taken to promote adventure tourism activities in Champawat and Bageshwar districts, and that EV charging stations are being established at various locations for the convenience of tourists.

During the meeting, the Governor appreciated the efforts being made by KMVN towards tourism development. He stated that along with promoting tourism, special focus should also be placed on long-term planning to ensure sustainable growth of tourism activities in the region and greater benefits for local communities.
