20-01-2022:Governor released the book “Power Women” written by author Smt.Veenu Dhingra on women empowerment

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) on Thursday released the book “Power Women” written by author Smt.Veenu Dhingra on women empowerment at Raj Bhawan. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) said that soon a book is planned to be published on the struggles and successes of women of hilly areas of Uttarakhand with the courtesy of Raj Bhawan. Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) said that this year four seminars on women empowerment will be organized at Raj Bhawan. These Women’s Empowerment Conferences will focus on the empowerment of women of the state, especially women living in mountainous rural areas, the problems and challenges of women in the state, women empowerment through self-help groups, girl child education, increasing the participation of women in the army and other prestigious services. The Governor said that women are the power of change in Uttarakhand. Women in hilly areas are bringing revolutionary changes through Self Help Groups with hard work, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. Women of mountainous areas are writing a new chapter of economic empowerment while facing various challenges. Along with the conservation of local products and crafts women are also working to strengthen the rural economy. This is highly commendable.
