Governor Congratulates Team of Dholi on Winning Silver Lotus Award at the 72nd National Film Awards

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) has congratulated the team of the Uttarakhand film Dholi on being honoured with the prestigious Silver Lotus (Rajat Kamal) Award for Best Garhwali Film at the 72nd National Film Awards (Feature Film category). He described the achievement as a historic and proud moment for Uttarakhand and its film industry.

The Governor said that the honour reflects national recognition of Uttarakhand’s rich folk culture, language and artistic heritage. He noted that the State’s cultural traditions have always been admired for their distinct identity and deep sensitivity, and that this recognition would further strengthen Uttarakhand’s creative and cultural presence at the national level.

Extending his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the film’s director, producer, cast and the entire crew, the Governor expressed confidence that Uttarakhand cinema would continue to achieve new milestones. He said such accomplishments would play an important role in promoting the State’s culture, folk language and traditional arts, while bringing them greater recognition across the country and around the world.
