    Governor Extends Greetings on the Commencement of Char Dham Yatra 2026

    Hon’ble Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) has extended his heartfelt greetings to all pilgrims arriving from across the country and abroad for the Char Dham Yatra, commencing on April 19, 2026. He wished all pilgrims a safe, pleasant, and spiritually fulfilling journey.

    In his message, the Governor stated that the sacred shrines of Badrinath Temple, Kedarnath Temple, Gangotri Temple, Yamunotri Temple, and Hemkund Sahib are not only centers of faith but also living symbols of India’s rich culture, spirituality, and timeless traditions. He said that the Char Dham Yatra is a profound journey of devotion, belief, and inner peace, which strengthens the cultural unity of the nation.

    The Governor appealed to all pilgrims to follow the guidelines issued by the administration during the journey and remain mindful of environmental conservation. He emphasized that the sacred Himalayan region is a priceless heritage, and its cleanliness and preservation require collective responsibility and participation.
