    Governor Smt. Baby Rani Maurya planted the plants of Rudraksh, Neem, Amla, Bael, Ashoka and blackberry at Rajbhawan complex on the occasion of Harela festival on Friday. Governor Smt. Maurya gave directions to the horticulture department to plant fruits trees at most during the ongoing rainy season. Governor encouraged the workers of the horticulture department, especially women working in Rajbhawan garden. Governor said that women have a special role in environment conservation in the state.

    Governor Smt. Maurya said that the folk festival Harela gives a message of environment conservation. Today, environmental conservation and water conservation are burning topics. Green cover should be increased across the globe. Global warming and pollution are global challenges today. So the Harela festival of environmental conservation has become more relevant and important presently.

    Governor said that youth should participate in the Harela festival with full enthusiasm. Children should be taught to love nature and conserve the environment in schools. They should be encouraged for plantation. Governor appealed that children should plant a tree on the occasion of their birthday along with on the occasions of birthdays of their parents and siblings. People should give the plants to each other on various occasions as gifts.

    Governor Smt. Maurya said that traditions and culture of the State give the message of harmony with the environment. We should conserve and continue these traditions with pride. All the people should come together to protect the environment.
