    Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) Arrives at Lok Bhawan, Nainital

    Commissioner Kumaon, District Magistrate and SSP Nainital Welcome the Governor

    Hon’ble Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) arrived at Lok Bhawan, Nainital on Saturday, where he was welcomed by senior administrative officials.

    On his arrival at Lok Bhawan, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, District Magistrate Nainital Lalit Mohan Rayal, and Senior Superintendent of Police Manjunath TC welcomed the Governor by presenting bouquets and saplings.

    On the occasion, the Governor said that visiting the Kumaon region always brings a unique sense of happiness and spiritual connection. He stated that during his stay at Lok Bhawan, Nainital, he would visit all six districts of the Kumaon division and undertake night halts to review ongoing development works and administrative activities in the districts.

    The Governor said that he would also visit remote border areas and Vibrant Villages to interact with local residents and assess regional development initiatives. He informed that the Governor’s Golf Tournament would also be organized at the Lok Bhawan campus in Nainital. He noted with appreciation that participation of boys and girls in the event has been increasing continuously, particularly the growing participation of young girls, which he described as highly encouraging.

    The Governor further informed that a special programme titled “An Evening Dedicated to Soldiers” is also proposed to be organized during the visit.

    He stated that during his tour, he would visit various important locations in the Kumaon division and review development works and challenges being faced in different sectors. He observed that the Kumaon region is home to numerous tourist destinations and that temples and tourism sites are being developed under the Temple Garland Mission. He described the region as a major centre of faith and spirituality where tourist footfall has been steadily increasing.

    The Governor added that he would also interact with Self-Help Groups during the visit to encourage and motivate them.
