15-12-2025 : The Vice Chancellor of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, paid a courtesy call on the Governor at Lok Bhavan.

The Vice Chancellor of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.), at Lok Bhavan on Monday.

During the meeting, the Governor discussed important matters related to the academic, research, and administrative progress of the University. The Governor appreciated the quality academic work and research activities being undertaken by the University and described them as valuable for both the State and the nation.

The Governor emphasized the need to further strengthen research and innovation in seven key priority areas, including advanced quality seed production, honey production, coarse grains (millets), semiconductors, horticultural crops such as dragon fruit and kiwi, drone technology, and aromatic crops. He also stressed that women empowerment should be given special focus across all these sectors.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan assured the Governor that, under his guidance, the University would prepare a concrete action plan to give fresh direction to research, innovation, and extension activities in these priority areas.
