    15-11-2025 : Governor participated as the Chief Guest in the 5th Convocation Ceremony of Quantum University, Roorkee.

    Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.) participated as the Chief Guest in the 5th Convocation Ceremony of Quantum University, Roorkee today. The Governor awarded gold medals to students who excelled in various academic fields. On this occasion, Sakshi Raj was honoured with the President’s Medal for her outstanding all-round performance. The Governor encouraged students to set high goals in life, work with discipline and dedication, and remain committed to their responsibilities towards society and the nation.

    In his convocation address, the Governor congratulated all graduating students, their parents, and teachers, noting that a convocation ceremony marks a golden moment in life—an achievement born out of hard work, discipline, and strong willpower. He told the degree recipients that there is no shortcut to success; it is the result of persistent effort, patience, and discipline. He urged the students to dream big and limitless, and to pursue those dreams with sustained effort, determination, and a positive mindset.

    The Governor stated that ethics, character, and humility are the most important pillars of lasting success. Highlighting the modern technological revolution—AI, data analytics, robotics, and quantum computing—he urged students to embrace lifelong learning. He said that the future will be led by those who never stop learning and continuously adapt to emerging technologies.

    The Governor added that India is moving forward on an important journey in the Amrit Kaal, and the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 will be achieved only through the active contribution of the youth. He also appreciated the university’s remarkable progress during the year 2024–25 in research, innovation, industry collaboration, and social responsibility, calling it a matter of pride for Uttarakhand. Acknowledging the role of teachers, he said that a teacher is not merely a provider of knowledge, but a guiding light who shapes the future of students.

    On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Vivek Kumar presented the achievements of the university. The ceremony was attended by MLA Smt. Mamta Rakesh, Mayor of Roorkee, Anita Agarwal, Chairman Ajay Goyal, Founding Chairman Shyam Sundar Goyal, former President of the Indian Agricultural Universities Association, Dr. Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Registrar Dr. Amit Dixit, other university members,. and students.
