    The climber Savita Kanswal, a resident of Uttarkashi selected for the Everest Massif Expedition, met Governor Smt. Baby Rani Maurya at Raj Bhavan on Monday. Governor Smt. Maurya said that the daughters of Uttarakhand are brave and on the strength of their hard work, they are ahead in every field today. He said that Savita has proved that even economically weaker children can make a different identity at national and international level due to their hard work. He assured all possible help to Savita. He said that Savita’s selection for this important campaign will inspire other daughters too. The Governor has congratulated Maa Ganga and Baba Vishwanath for the success of the campaign while besting Savita Kanswal and Manish Kasaniyal from Pithoragarh for going for the Everest Massif campaign.

    Talking to the governor, climber Savita Kanswal said that this expedition is being started in collaboration with the Sports Ministry of the Government of India, which will start in April. For this expedition, 12 out of 1 thousand climbers were selected from all over the country. Among them, Savita Kanswal from Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand and Manish Kasaniyal from Pithoragarh have been selected, which is a matter of pride for Uttarakhand. This campaign will end in June. Savita said that so far five peaks have been climbed by her. I belong to a remote village in Uttarkashi district. He has also done a job in Dehradun for his fees. The parents cultivate farming in the village.
