    14-12-2022:Governor honoring women scientists in a program organized by USERCK.

    Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd) felicitated six women scientists for their excellent work towards developing new technology at the Young Women Scientist Conclave organized by Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Center (USRC) at IRDT Auditorium.

    In the duration of the event, he released the book ‘Block Chain: A Beginner’s Manual and Endurance Strategies in Changing Climate’ published by USERK and inaugurated the mobile apps “Disaster Management for Chardham Yatra” and “Crime Control for Women Security” made in collaboration with College of Engineering (CORE), Roorkee.

    Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the conclave is a wonderful mix of technology, women empowerment and youth strength and it is with this trio that India will work towards becoming a world leader. Revolution of change is led by the women of India as there is incomparable contribution made by women in the sphere of science and technology. There was a special mention to the women of Uttarakhand, whose potential he regarded as infinite. He commended USERK for playing a vital role in the direction of providing and encouraging women in science and technology and interacted with the girl students.

    Prof. (Dr.) Anita Rawat, Director, USERK, while welcoming the guests, explained in detail about the role of organizing the Young Women Scientist Conclave. She said that it was not possible to implement the concept of Sustainable Development Goal 2030 without the participation and contribution of women. In lieu of this, young women scientists are being awarded “Young Women Scientist Excellence Award” and “Young Women Achievement Award” by USERK.

    Honourable guest of the program, Chancellor of University of Engineering and Technology, Roorkee, Mr. J.C. Jain said that today’s era is the era of science in which the use of various technologies have become necessary in science, education as well as research work. Women of the state and the country are continuously contributing in all these fields. He also complimented the commendable work being done by USERK.

    The master of Ceremonies was Scientist Dr. Om Prakash Nautiyal and the vote of thanks was done by Dr. Manju Sundriyal. Other personalities present were Dr. Bhavtosh Sharma, Dr. Rajendra Rana, E. Umesh Chandra, Om Joshi, Rajdeep Jung, Harish Prasad Mamgai, Shivani Pokhriyal and Ramesh Rawat. Vice-Chancellors of various universities of Uttarakhand, principals of educational institutions, teachers and other guests also participated at the Conclave.
