Raj Bhawan hosted the observance of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas and Jharkhand State Foundation Day today. On this occasion, the extraordinary contribution and indomitable courage of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji were remembered with reverence. Students of Eklavya Girls Inter College presented captivating cultural performances based on Jaunsari traditions. The Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), released the book “Adi Karmyogi Abhiyan” prepared by the Tribal Welfare Department.
Recalling the unparalleled struggle and bravery of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji, the Governor said he is a symbol of courage, self-respect, and the rights of the tribal community of India. He added that Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas reminds us of the invaluable and unique contribution of tribal communities—from the freedom struggle to nation-building. Their values of living in harmony with nature, hard work, equality, social cooperation, and unwavering devotion to the motherland are a source of inspiration for the entire nation. The Governor emphasized collective efforts towards the upliftment, education, employment, and cultural preservation of tribal communities, stating that their knowledge, courage, and way of life are an important heritage of India’s prosperity and unity.
Extending greetings on Jharkhand State Foundation Day, the Governor said that 15 November is not only a golden chapter in Jharkhand’s history but also a symbol of the nation’s cultural diversity, tribal pride, and national unity. He added that Jharkhand can play a significant role in building a Viksit Bharat with its natural resources, industrial potential, and talented youth.
The Governor highlighted that the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given new strength to the country’s cultural diversity. This initiative has further strengthened mutual cooperation, harmony, and national unity among different states and communities.
The programme was attended by Secretary to the Governor, Shri Ravinath Raman, Legal Advisor Kaushal Kishor Shukla, Secretary Sridhar Babu Adanki, Additional Secretary Reena Joshi, Director of Social Welfare Sanjay Singh Tolia, Additional Director Yogendra Singh Rawat, and several other dignitaries.
