Harayali Teej Celebrated at Lok Bhavan with Traditional Festivity and Cultural Colours

Harayali Teej, a festival celebrating nature, beauty, faith, and women’s empowerment in Indian culture, was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Lok Bhavan on Friday. The vibrant spirit of the festival, traditionally observed during the lush monsoon month of Sawan, was beautifully reflected at the venue. Women officers and employees working at Lok Bhavan, along with the wives of officers, participated enthusiastically and presented a variety of colourful cultural programmes.
The Chief Guest, First Lady Smt. Gurmeet Kaur, extended her warm wishes to all the women on the occasion of Harayali Teej and prayed for their happiness, prosperity, good health, and well-being. Highlighting the historical and cultural significance of the festival, she said that Harayali Teej represents India’s rich cultural traditions as well as women’s faith, love, and devotion. She said that such celebrations not only connect the younger generation with the country’s cultural heritage but also strengthen mutual harmony, participation, and social bonding.
The participants presented captivating dance and musical performances, beautifully capturing the joy and festive spirit of Sawan and Teej. A Teej competition was also organised on the occasion, in which Smt. Deepika Rana was crowned “Teej Queen.” Smt. Sapna Chaudhary secured the second position, while Smt. Mohini stood third. First Lady Smt. Gurmeet Kaur presented mementoes to the winners in recognition of their achievements.
On the occasion, the women brought the cultural grace and festive spirit of Harayali Teej to life through traditional attire, folk songs, dance, and various festive activities.
