    Governor of Uttarakhand Smt. Baby Rani Maurya has extended greetings to the people of Nation and State on the occasion of Independence Day. Governor Smt Maurya will hoist the National Flag at 9:00 am on 15th August. Later High Tea program will be organised for dignitaries at 6 :00 pm.

    Governor Smt. Baby Rani Maurya paid tribute to the martyrs soldiers on the occasion of Independence Day. Governor Smt. Maurya expressed gratitude to all the great freedom fighters and brave martyrs who did supreme sacrifice for the freedom of the country. Governor also paid respect to the Rajya Andolankaris of the State.

    In her message released on the occasion of Independence Day Governor Smt. Maurya said that India is entering in the 75th year of independence which is being celebrated as Amrit Mahotsav. After independence India has been setting up new dimensions in every sector as a progressive nation. India developed indigence vaccine to fight the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic and set an example of Atma Nirbhar Bharat before the world.

    The state of Uttarakhand has contributed remarkably to the development of the country. There are many challenges before the state due to COVID-19 and natural disasters. Uttarakhand Government has started various welfare schemes such as Vatsalya Scheme for orphan children, women empowerment programs, “Har Ghar Nal” providing vaccination at every home, housing program for poor people, which are appreciable. The State Government is providing vocational education and training to the youths.

    We should all be determined to provide better health, education and employment facilities to the citizens of the State.
