14-01-2026 Governor Extends Greetings and Best Wishes on ‘Army Day’

Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Army Day, paying tribute to the valour, discipline, and unwavering commitment of the Indian Army towards the nation.

The Governor said that the contribution of our soldiers, who stand guard to protect the security, honour, and self-respect of India, is unparalleled. He stated that the entire nation bows in gratitude to those brave warriors who, steadfast on the path of duty, have sacrificed everything for the country. The sacrifices made by soldiers and their families form the very foundation of India’s strength and resolve.

He further said that the Indian Army has not only demonstrated exemplary courage on the battlefield but has also earned the trust of citizens through its selfless service during times of peace, natural disasters, and crises. The Army’s courage, dedication, and discipline not only safeguard the nation but also provide direction and inspiration to society.

Describing Uttarakhand as the backbone of the nation’s defence system, the Governor said that Devbhoomi is a living symbol of bravery, sacrifice, and service. The continuous contribution of the people of Uttarakhand to the armed forces and the generations-old legacy of patriotism remain a source of inspiration for the entire nation.
