The Governor paid floral tributes to Swami Rama Ji and presented the “Swami Rama Humanitarian Award – 2025” to Dr. S. G. Sushilamma, Chairperson of Sumangali Seva Ashram, Karnataka, on behalf of the institution.

On this occasion, the Governor said that Swami Rama Ji was not only a saint or yogi but a true devotee of humanity — a symbol of service, discipline, and dedication. Through his life, Swami Rama Ji proved that yoga is not merely a practice but a means of building a better society. The Governor also praised the efforts of the Rural Development Institute established by Swami Rama Ji, which has illuminated thousands of villages with the light of health, education, sanitation, and self-reliance.

Addressing the youth, the Governor urged them to become job creators rather than job seekers. He said that to build a self-reliant and developed India, young people must lead in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, and rural development. As the nation moves toward the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, he emphasized that building a Developed Uttarakhand is a collective responsibility of all.

The event was attended by Dr. Vijay Dhasmana, Chancellor of the University; Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, Vice Chancellor; Swami Ritavan Bharati; Dr. Mohan Swami; and several dignitaries from India and abroad.
