    12-01-2023:Governor virtually participated as the Chief Guest in the “National Youth Conference-2023” organized by the GCTC in Delhi.

    On the occasion of Yuva Diwas, Global Counter Terrorism Council (GCTC) organised a National Youth Conference in Delhi wherein Uttarakhand Governor, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) was the Chief Guest.

    Jan 12th is also celebrated as Swami Vivekanand ji’s birth anniversary and the Governor’s inspirational speech began with respect and reverence to Swami ji’s words – Arise, Awake and stop not, till the goal is reached.” Called “The Maker of Modern India,” Swami Vivekanand said that fearless, frank, clean-hearted, courageous and ambitious youth are the foundations on which the future of the nation is built. He believed in youth and the youth power and each one of YOU, emphasised the Governor.

    He gave reference to Adi Shankaracharya, who had strung together the country with the thread of unity. He spoke of the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s sons, and countless youths like Sardar Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose who made the supreme sacrifice, for the country.

    The Governor also highlighted Honorable PM’s Panch Pran that would help India guide the world as it reached its 100th year of independence. He concluded with a message to the youth on sustainability, and on the benefits of our New Education Policy that is set to change the way India and Indians learn. He appealed to everyone to take home some aspects of the ideologies, philosophies and thoughts spoken today, so they can partake in the revolution and transformation that is India.

    He applauded the efforts of the NCC and of the GCTC for organising such a brilliant event and ended with a quote that left everyone in the audience with motivation. “You have to grow from inside out. None can teach you. None can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.” Believe it, said Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.)
