Governor Smt Baby Rani Maurya inaugurated a function of University of Engineering & Technology Roorkee on Sunday in Roorkee.
Addressing the event Governor Smt Maurya said that technology and medical both subjects are important in present time. Fact can not be denied that Technology and medical have become our basic requirements.
Governor Smt Maurya said that educational institutions and universities play major role in the progress of country and society. So positive and creative energy should be communicated in these places. She added that students get opportunities to contribute in the progress of the country. Opportunities will increase due to growing numbers of technical and medical institutions but setting up high quality teaching system in the technical and medical institutions is also our collective responsibility. Governor Smt Maurya added that entire COIR team is actively engaged in technical education since long time. They must have gained better experiences. Your experiences will benefit the students of medical and technology. Students will get high quality education.She hoped that institution will play vital part in providing qualitative and accessible education to the students of state of Uttarakhand. While discussing about the new education policy governor said that we need to separate the education from commercialisation. Some reforms were necessary in old education policy. She said that students should abide by human values along with technological progress. She said that doctors and medical students should do better preparations considering the previous experiences. Governor emphasised on the controlling crowd in public places and following COVID guidelines. Smt Maurya appealed that people should plant more and more plants during the Harela festival of Uttarakhand.
Former Chief Minister Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, cabinet minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Swami Yatishvaranand and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
