    Media Delegation from Odisha Pays Courtesy Call on the Governor

    A media delegation from Odisha paid a courtesy call on the Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), at Lok Bhavan on Wednesday. The delegation will undertake a four-day visit to Uttarakhand to conduct field visits to various development projects of the Government of India. Through this visit, information about various developmental projects and public welfare schemes of the Government of India will be disseminated to a wider audience through different media platforms.

    On the occasion, the Governor extended a warm welcome to the journalists to the sacred land of Uttarakhand. He shared insights with them about the state’s spiritual heritage and economic progress. The Governor expressed confidence that during their visit, the journalists would closely observe the natural beauty, development initiatives, and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand, and would convey positive narratives about the state to people across the country through their experiences and observations.

    He said that the role of the media in a democracy is extremely important and responsible. Journalists act as a strong bridge between society and governance. The media not only reflects public sentiment but also plays a vital role in promoting awareness, encouraging positive change, and highlighting issues of public interest.

    On the occasion, Assistant Director of Press Information Bureau Dehradun Shri Sanjeev Sundariyal, Assistant Director of Press Information Bureau Bhubaneswar Shri Mahendra Jena, Information Assistant Shri Vikas Ranjan Dalai, along with members of the media delegation from Odisha, were present.
