    10-12-2025 : The Governor participated as the Chief Guest in the Founder’s Day celebrations of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad held in Gorakhpur.

    The Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.), participated as the Chief Guest in the Founder’s Day celebrations of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad held in Gorakhpur today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, was also present. The Governor and the Chief Minister jointly felicitated meritorious students who excelled in various competitions.

    Addressing the students, teachers and the gathering, the Governor said that Gorakhpur is not just a city but a significant centre of India’s spiritual, cultural and national consciousness. Referring to the sacred legacy of Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath and the saint tradition, he said that this land has, for centuries, been a source of inspiration for nation-building, social upliftment and human welfare.

    The Governor highlighted the glorious educational journey of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad since its establishment in 1932 and said that the institution has contributed immensely to the fields of education, culture, character-building and nationalism in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Today, its expansion is visible from primary education to university level. He also appreciated the efforts of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University for integrating modern science with the values of Indian culture.

    The Governor called upon the young generation to play a pivotal role in building a Developed India @ 2047—by leading the nation in areas such as technology, science, AI, cyber security, space and green energy—while upholding Indian culture, sensitivity and patriotism.

    Referring to India’s global rise, scientific achievements and cultural renaissance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor said that this is an era of India’s awakening, and the youth will carry this transformative momentum forward.
