Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Uttarakhand on the auspicious occasion of the commencement of Sharadiya Navratri.

The Governor said that Sharadiya Navratri is a sacred festival of Indian culture and faith that reminds us of the significance of strength, devotion and resolve. Worshipping the nine forms of Maa Durga inspires us to embody courage and patience and to stand against injustice. The festival also conveys the message of respecting women, fostering positivity in society, and strengthening mutual harmony and goodwill.

The Governor expressed his wish that, with the blessings of Maa Durga, happiness, prosperity and well-being prevail in the lives of the people of Uttarakhand, and that the state continues to achieve new milestones in peace, harmony and progress.
