A traditional and grand celebration of Karva Chauth was organized today at Raj Bhawan by the First Lady, Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur. Women from the IAS, IPS, and IFS Associations of Uttarakhand participated in the event. The ceremony began with traditional rituals and prayers, where all participants adorned themselves in elegant traditional attire.

Welcoming all the attendees, Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur spoke about the spiritual, cultural, and social significance of Karva Chauth. She said that the festival symbolizes a woman’s devotion, love, dedication, and sacrifice — values that strengthen the bonds of family life. The tradition, she added, reminds us of the importance of family and relationships while reinforcing the message of mutual respect and unity.

She also commended the women officers of the state for their outstanding service, noting that they not only perform their administrative duties with excellence but also serve as inspirations in their personal and social lives. Their dedication and competence, she said, are infusing new energy into the holistic development of the state.

All the women present exchanged greetings and extended warm wishes for Karva Chauth, celebrating the occasion in an atmosphere of joy, tradition, and togetherness.
