Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), met renowned folk singer and Padma Shri awardee Shri Pritam Bharatwan at Raj Bhawan on Wednesday.

During the courtesy call, the Governor and Shri Bharatwan discussed in detail the preservation of the state’s folk heritage, traditional music, and efforts to pass it on to the younger generation.

The Governor praised Shri Bharatwan’s remarkable contribution to the promotion and preservation of folk music and culture. He said that Bharatwan’s work is taking Uttarakhand’s rich cultural legacy to new heights and inspiring future generations to stay connected with their roots.
