The process of Census 2027 in Uttarakhand was formally launched today, April 10, 2026, by the Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), through self-enumeration at Lok Bhavan. With this, the first phase of census activities has commenced across the state.

This will be India’s first fully digital census, wherein data collection will be carried out through digital devices. Additionally, citizens have been provided with the facility of self-enumeration through a secure web-based system.

The Governor appealed to the people of the state to actively participate in this important national exercise and provide accurate and complete information through self-enumeration. He stated that the web portal has been designed to be simple and user-friendly, enabling citizens to fill in their details without difficulty.

He also urged the youth and social organizations to assist others in using digital platforms so that no individual is left out of the process.

Director of Census Operations, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Smt. Eva Aashish Srivastava, informed that under the first phase in Uttarakhand, house listing and housing census activities will be conducted across the state from April 25 to May 24, 2026, over a period of 30 days.

Prior to the door-to-door survey, citizens can avail the self-enumeration facility from April 10 to April 24, 2026. During this period, individuals can log in to the portal https://se.census.gov.in using their mobile number and required details to digitally submit information about themselves and their families.
