On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, sisters from Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya tied rakhi to Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), at Raj Bhawan, wishing him good health and a long life. The Governor expressed gratitude to all the sisters and described Raksha Bandhan as a symbol of love, trust, and social harmony.
Students from SOS Children’s Village, Bhimtal; Sapience School, Vikasnagar; and Hindustan Scouts & Guides also tied rakhi to the Governor and extended their greetings. The Governor blessed the students for a bright future and said that such festivals inspire us to uphold the sanctity of our relationships and fulfil our responsibilities towards one another.
He added that Raksha Bandhan represents the sacred bond, enduring affection, and trust between brothers and sisters, strengthening family ties and fostering love, goodwill, and mutual brotherhood in society.
The First Lady, Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur; Finance Controller to the Governor, Dr. Tripti Srivastava; and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
