    Hon’ble Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.) visited Badrinath Temple on Saturday and offered prayers to Lord Badri Vishal for peace, prosperity, happiness, and well-being of the nation and the state.

    On his arrival at the Dham, the Governor was welcomed by Rishi Prasad Sati, Vice Chairman of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee. The Governor also met the Rawal of the temple, Amarnath Namboodiri. During his visit, he interacted with pilgrims present in the temple premises and sought feedback regarding the pilgrimage arrangements.

    The Governor received detailed information from Chief Development Officer Dr. Abhishek Tripathi regarding the ongoing master plan works at the Dham. He also conducted an on-site inspection of the riverfront and various development works underway around the temple complex.

    During the visit, the Governor interacted with various stakeholders, listened to their suggestions, and assured them of necessary action.

    Appreciating the successful management of the Char Dham Yatra, the Governor commended the district administration, temple committee, police department, and other concerned agencies for their coordinated efforts. He also praised the discipline displayed by pilgrims and urged devotees to continue cooperating with authorities to ensure smooth pilgrimage operations.

    The Governor appealed to pilgrims visiting the Char Dham Yatra to purchase local products and handicrafts as souvenirs of their journey, thereby supporting local livelihoods and strengthening the regional economy.

    Among those present on the occasion were Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jyotirmath Chandrashekhar Vashishtha, Yatra Magistrate Ravindra Jwantha, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chamoli Rajkumar Pandey, Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan Singh Bisht, Additional SP Hoshiyar Singh, Executive Officer Sunil Purohit, and Station House Officer Navneet Bhandari.
