Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) visited the art gallery at Raj Bhawan on the occasion of spring festival on Wednesday. In this two-days art gallery, paintings, sketch art and photographs of painters and photographers related to rural life, women, folk traditions and culture of Uttarakhand were shown. Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) interacted with all the painters and photographers and encouraged them. The Governor said that the painters and photographers should introduce the rural culture, social life and life of women living in the hilly areas of the state through their paintings and photographs on global platform. He personally boosted the morale of the painters by buying their paintings related to Uttarakhand. Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd) was very impressed by the painting of Lord Shiva made by the emerging young painter of Uttarakhand, Shri Arihant.
