Governor Extends Greetings on Raksha Bandhan

Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. He remarked that the festival celebrates the sacred bond of love, trust, and enduring affection between brothers and sisters, reinforcing family ties and nurturing a spirit of harmony, compassion, and mutual respect in society.

Describing Raksha Bandhan as a festival honouring Matrshakti (the power of motherhood), the Governor said sisters are a timeless source of inspiration and nurturing — their affection and blessings guiding and energising not only families but society at large.

Governor also expressed deep condolences to families who have lost their loved ones in recent natural disasters in different parts of the state, the Governor said that the spirit of this festival should inspire compassion, support, and the reinforcement of human values for those in distress. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured and conveyed gratitude to all engaged in relief and rescue operations.

The Governor expressed his deepest condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in recent natural disasters across the state. He said the spirit of Raksha Bandhan should inspire compassion, solidarity, and the strengthening of human values towards those in distress.
