    Governor Smt. Baby Rani Maurya took part in the teacher’s felicitation Program organized on the occasion of Teacher’s Day at St. Joseph’s Academy on Tuesday.

    Addressing the program, Governor Smt. Maurya said that the second President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a faradic of Indian culture, a great teacher, an eminent educationist and a great philosopher. In his memory, the tradition of celebrating Teacher’s Day was started every year, whose purpose is to tell the importance of teachers and to give them respect.

    The Governor said that teachers shape the character, potential and future of a student. According to the great Greek philosopher Aristotle, “Those who give good education to children deserve more respect than those who give birth to them.”

    The Governor said that after 35 years, in the year 2020, a new education policy has been brought in the country by the Government of India. Educational institutions have to play an effective role for effective implementation of this policy. The new education policy will prove to be a milestone in the field of education.

    The Governor said that a teacher builds a good society by giving proper guidance to the students. I hope that all of you teachers will give good values and human values to the students, making meaningful the motto of the school ‘Karma is worship’.

    On this occasion the Principal of the school, Mr. Jayaseelan, Vice Principal, Community Head, all the teachers and students were present.
