The Governor said that having the opportunity to visit and worship at Maa Haat Kalika Temple was a matter of great fortune and spiritual fulfillment for him. He noted that during his nearly four decades of service in the Indian Army, he had a deep association with the Kumaon Regiment, and the slogan “Jai Maa Kalika” had always been a source of inspiration for soldiers’ morale and dedication to national service.

He further stated that, through the blessings and grace of Maa Kalika, Indian soldiers have made extraordinary contributions toward safeguarding the nation’s security, unity, and integrity. Being present in the divine court of the Goddess today, he said, filled him with special spiritual energy and inner peace.

The Governor remarked that Maa Haat Kalika Temple in Gangolihat is not only a center of faith but also an important symbol of Kumaon’s cultural and spiritual identity. Assuring that the suggestions provided by the temple committee and local residents would be taken seriously, he said that continuous efforts would be made to establish major religious sites and temple circuits of the Kumaon region at both national and international levels.

Expressing his satisfaction, he noted that Pithoragarh district is rapidly emerging as a significant destination for tourism and religious tourism. Compared to previous years, there has been a remarkable increase in the number of tourists, which reflects the district’s growing popularity.
