The Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.), today interacted with the officers and personnel of the Munsyari detachment of the 14th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). He appreciated the ITBP’s contribution to border security, disaster management, public assistance, and national service, and encouraged the officers and jawans for their dedicated efforts.
On this occasion, the Governor said:
> “It is a matter of great pride for me to have the opportunity to visit Munsyari and meet the brave personnel, officers, and their families of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. The high morale, dedication, and discipline with which all of you are safeguarding the nation’s borders in this remote and challenging region are truly inspiring.”
The Governor further stated that their unwavering sense of duty and commitment to national service is a matter of pride for the entire country. He said that despite adverse conditions and harsh weather, their alertness and dedication reflect their loyalty to the nation. “The entire country is proud of you,” he added.
He said that Uttarakhand is the land of brave soldiers, and its glorious military tradition is a priceless heritage of the nation. The Governor remarked that the life of a soldier is not merely a profession but the highest pledge of service to the nation. He emphasized that the security, development, and prosperity of the country’s citizens are founded on the constant vigilance and sacrifices of its armed personnel.
The Governor congratulated the officers and personnel of the ITBP’s 14th Battalion for their outstanding work in border security, rescue operations, long-range patrolling, the Himadri Expedition, and initiatives such as the Vibrant Village Programme.
