06-10-2025 : Governor extends greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti

Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti.

In his message issued on the eve, the Governor said that Maharishi Valmiki presented the ideal character of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram to the world by composing the great epic Ramayana. He said that Maharishi Valmiki’s teachings inspire the creation of a society based on truth, compassion, and equality.

The Governor said that Maharishi Valmiki’s philosophy of life teaches us that national prosperity is impossible without the upliftment of the neglected and deprived sections of society. His teachings strengthen the spirit of equality of opportunity and an inclusive society.
