    Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.) participated as the chief guest in the ‘Contribution of tribal heroes in the freedom movement’ festival organized by Seva Prakalp Sansthan, Uttarakhand at Khatima on Tuesday. During this, he visited the exhibition of pictures of freedom fighters in the campus.

    Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the tribal community has made significant and great contribution in the freedom struggle of the country. Tribal societies have fought powerfully and effectively during their freedom struggle. The tribes strengthened their cultural, social and political organization in the Indian freedom struggle.

    The governor said that the tribal societies launched strong movements against the British government, organized against Gudiya Satyagraha, intolerance and also contributed to movements like Arya Samaj, Sanatan Dharma Sabha. Great freedom fighter tribes like Veer Birsa Munda, Sidho and Kanhu Murmu inspired their people to rise against the foreign invaders. They achieved their freedom through popular rebellion, sacrificing their lives in the Indian freedom struggle.

    The Governor said that when there is talk of tribal society in Uttarakhand, there is mention of 5 main tribes Tharu, Buxa, Jaunsari, Bhotia and Raji society. Significant contribution is being made by all these tribes in the development of the state. The efforts of the tribal society, everyone’s efforts, is the energy to build a lofty India in the golden age of independence. Government of India has decided to celebrate Tribal Pride Day on 15th November, we will work day and night for the self-respect, self-confidence, rights of the tribal society, Tribal Pride Day is the day to reiterate this resolution.

    The Governor said that today Mrs. Draupadi Murmu ji, as the first citizen of our country, as our Excellency the President, is increasing the pride of not only the tribal society but the whole country, the life of Mrs. Murmu ji inspires every Indian. His early struggle, his rich service and his exemplary success are a matter of pride for every Indian. She has emerged as a beacon of hope for our citizens, especially the poor, the downtrodden and the downtrodden. This amrit kaal of freedom is the time to build a self-reliant India. India’s self-reliance is not possible without tribal participation.

    The Governor said that those working in tribal and rural society are the real heroes of the country. These are our diamonds, these are our diamonds. Since ancient times, various tribal communities of India have been following their distinctive lifestyle and culture and that is why they have kept their self-respect alive. Tribal society has contributed significantly in the freedom struggle of India. He played an active role in the freedom struggle of the country through his cultural wealth, social organizations, leadership and struggle. His contribution is important in the history of independence of our country and we should always respect him.

    The Governor said that the biggest contribution of a prince (Lord Ram) to becoming Purushottam was from the tribes. Sharing his experiences, the Governor said that the tribals have a huge contribution in the army as well. He said that the tribals have done wonders in all fields from sports to the army. He said that understand your great men, art, culture very well and also introduce the world to your great heritage. He also emphasized on maximum use of technology, artificial intelligence.

    During this Chief Development Officer Vishal Mishra, Additional District Magistrate Jai Bharat Singh, Deputy District Magistrate Ravindra Singh Bisht, Tushar Saini, along with Dr. Aggarwal, Dev Singh Rana, Harish Rana, Malkit Singh Rana, Ms. Kamini Rana, Suresh Chandra Pandey, Om Prakash Rana , Dr. Dev Singh, Sandeep Rana, Ms. Sanjana Rana, Ms. Sushmita Rana, Dr. Vivek Agarwal, Dan Singh Rana, Madhu Rana, A. Priya etc. were present.
