The probationary PCS officers called on the Governor, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.), at Lok Bhawan today. Welcoming all the officers, the Governor said that administrative service is not merely a job, but a responsibility and a commitment to serve the people. He noted that Uttarakhand’s unique geographical conditions pose distinct challenges, where ensuring service delivery to remote and difficult regions demands dedication and sensitivity.
The Governor advised the trainee officers to listen carefully to the concerns of the common people and make sincere efforts to resolve them. He emphasized that ensuring the benefits of government schemes reach the last person in society should be their mission and vision.
Highlighting the importance of e-governance and digital technologies, the Governor said that their effective use can make services simpler, faster, and more accessible, reducing the need for citizens to visit offices repeatedly. He stressed that transparency, integrity, and timeliness must be core principles of administrative functioning. He also urged the officers to take a firm resolve to remain free from corruption.
The Governor said that people expect respect, sensitivity, and justice from the administration. He advised the probationary officers to always remain humble, impartial, and honest. Expressing confidence in their capabilities, he said that their positive outlook, work ethic, and spirit of service will help shape a progressive future for Uttarakhand.
