Director General of Police Shri Deepam Seth paid a courtesy call on Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at Lok Bhavan today. Several important issues related to security and policing in the state were discussed during the meeting.

The Governor reviewed the security preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela–2027. He emphasized that the safety of devotees must remain the highest priority. He directed that police arrangements, traffic management, disaster response mechanisms, and the use of modern technology be further strengthened.
With regard to the Winter Char Dham Yatra, the Governor said that considering the challenging weather and mountainous terrain, the safety of pilgrims must be ensured at all times.

The Governor stressed the importance of creating awareness among senior citizens to prevent cybercrimes. He said cyber security awareness campaigns should be conducted more extensively.
He also highlighted the need for effective implementation of the new criminal laws and called for training of police officers as well as awareness among citizens for better compliance.
