Students on National Integration Tour Meet Governor

Students from Leh, Ladakh, who are visiting Uttarakhand as part of a National Integration Tour under Operation Sadbhavana, met the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd.), at Lok Bhavan on Saturday.

The tour is being organised by 129 SATA Regiment, Dhanushdhari Artillery Brigade, under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps. As part of the tour, the students are getting opportunities to interact with prominent institutions and personalities in different parts of the country. During their visit, they will also tour prestigious institutions including the Forest Research Institute (FRI) and the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.

Addressing the students on the occasion, the Governor said that a National Integration Tour is not merely an opportunity to visit different places, but a chance to know, understand and connect with India. He said that the languages, food habits and cultures of Ladakh, Uttarakhand and other parts of the country may be different, but the Tricolour and a shared sense of pride in the nation unite everyone. This, he said, is the true spirit of unity in diversity.

The Governor encouraged the students to interact with people during their journey, understand their culture and way of life, and share their experiences with their families, friends and schools after returning to Leh. He urged them to return as ambassadors of national unity.

The Governor also called upon the students to dream big and move forward with hard work, discipline and determination. He said that one’s birthplace gives a person identity and roots, but it does not define the limits of one’s aspirations. He encouraged the students to learn resilience from the mountains of Ladakh and to view failure not as an end, but as an opportunity to move forward and grow.

He further urged the students not to limit their dreams. With education, self-confidence and courage, he said, they can create their own identity and achieve their goals in life.

Wishing the students a bright future, the Governor said that the students of today will become the responsible citizens and nation-builders of tomorrow. He expressed confidence that the tour would provide them with new learning, experiences and inspiration, while strengthening their understanding of the country’s rich diversity and the bonds that unite its people.

Lieutenant Colonel Anil Kumar, along with the students, teachers and other members accompanying the National Integration Tour, were present on the occasion.
