He said that in reality there is a need for revolution in the field of thinking for women empowerment. Integration of government and social and private efforts is necessary for women empowerment and girl education in the state. Only women can bring change in the society and country, if they are given opportunities.

The Governor said that the women of Uttarakhand have made an important contribution in the development of the society and the state. But Uttarakhandi women have not been given due credit for their struggle and contribution. SHGs products need to be better marketed, advertised and established as an international brand. Self-help groups will be encouraged in the state through MSME, direct to bank and microfinance. More and more women should be in crucial positions in the state. Their role in decision making should be important. Participation of women in policy making in the state should be increased.
