    Publish Date : February 3, 2026

    Jai Hind!

Today, being present among the NCC cadets of the Amrit Generation—filled with energy, enthusiasm, and zeal—I feel immense happiness and pride. Meeting disciplined, determined, and radiant youth like you, I myself experience renewed energy, fresh confidence, and new enthusiasm. First of all, I extend my heartfelt and limitless congratulations to all of you cadets for your outstanding performance.

Interacting with the brave sons and immensely capable daughters of this sacred land of Uttarakhand truly gives me deep inner joy. In each one of you, I see the very soul of Uttarakhand—the same soul that stands steadfast as a sentinel on the borders to protect the nation; the same soul that performs every duty with the spirit of “Nation First”; and the same soul that possesses the courage to achieve something extraordinary for the country.

This sacred land of valour and resolve is a land that gives birth to heroes, renowned for its traditions of courage, discipline, and sacrifice. This is a land where patriotism is not merely an idea, but a value ingrained in character. The air here carries courage, the rivers carry the determination to move forward, and the heartbeat of its youth carries the passion to do something meaningful for the nation. When I see disciplined, resolute, and energetic cadets like you today, my belief grows even stronger that Uttarakhand’s glorious legacy is in safe hands.

    My dear cadets,

Republic Day is not merely a national festival. It is the celebration of the resolve through which India established itself as a sovereign, democratic, and republic nation. The discipline, confidence, and patriotism you displayed on Kartavya Path on 26 January unfurled the powerful flag of Uttarakhand’s youth before the entire nation.

This achievement is not an individual one—it is a matter of pride for the entire state, society, and the nation. You have proven that when youth move forward with discipline and purpose, they can achieve extraordinary success.

I feel special pride in Cadet Mansi Vishwakarma, who, by serving as the Parade Commander of the Girls’ Contingent, proved that today’s Indian woman is not merely participating, but leading. This achievement is not just the success of one cadet; it is a proclamation of the strength, capability, and confidence of the daughters of Uttarakhand. It sends a message that when opportunity and values come together, daughters create history. Our daughters are not behind in any field—they are leading and inspiring others.

Similarly, Cadet Prince Singh Rana being awarded the Defence Minister’s Medal for excellence in drone training demonstrates that our cadets are not only proficient in traditional military discipline but are also fully prepared for modern technology, innovation, and future challenges. Today’s warfare is not limited to borders alone; it is also fought in the realms of technology, information, and innovation—and our youth are capable of meeting these challenges.

Uttarakhand’s “Vibrant Village” tableau at the Republic Day Parade captured the attention of the entire nation. It was not merely a cultural display, but a living symbol of the commitment to the development of border areas, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and inclusive nation-building. It conveyed the message that even India’s last village is an integral part of the nation’s mainstream progress.

When I witnessed your cultural performances, especially the group song based on the Sufi theme, I was deeply impressed. That presentation was not just art—it reflected the soul of India. The spirit of harmony, coexistence, and unity made it clear that NCC does not only teach physical discipline, but also nurtures sensitivity, culture, and human values.

    My dear youth,

The spirit of “Nation First” should not remain a slogan—it must become our work culture. We must think of the nation and society before ourselves. When a person lives for the nation, the nation itself gives meaning to that person’s life. This spirit is the essence of the Indian Army, NCC, and our great traditions.

I wish to say this especially to all of you—dream big, but dream with open eyes. History has been changed only by those youths who thought beyond limitations and placed the nation above self. Remember: dreams come true only when they are backed by discipline, hard work, and dedication. Work relentlessly, and no force will be able to stop you from achieving your goals.

The present era is the era of technology. Artificial intelligence, cyber security, drone technology, and digital systems are the powers of the future. I expect you to acquire skills in these fields and continuously keep yourselves updated. Technologically skilled youth will undoubtedly form the foundation of the nation’s progress, security, and competitive strength.

I make a special appeal to all youth to stay away from all kinds of addictions. Substance abuse and social evils weaken an individual’s potential and hinder the development of family, society, and the nation. A strong nation can be built only by strong and healthy youth.

Today, India is moving forward with renewed self-confidence. This New India is continuously progressing in every field—education, science, economy, security, and innovation. In today’s India, opportunities for youth are abundant. The greatest strength of this nation lies in energetic, disciplined, and nation-devoted youth like you. You are not merely witnesses to change—you are the carriers of change.

India’s military strength is rapidly advancing towards self-reliance. Indigenous defence production, cutting-edge technology, drones, cyber capabilities, and India’s growing credibility on international platforms are proof of our capabilities. This self-reliance is not only about security, but also about self-respect and sovereignty—and the role of youth in this is decisive.

The contribution of our armed forces and paramilitary forces to nation-building is not limited to border protection alone. Their role in disaster management, humanitarian assistance, internal security, and strengthening national unity is unparalleled. In every crisis, they stand selflessly as the shield of the nation. This is their dedication, and this is India’s strength.

Remember! The resolve of a Developed India can be realized only through the hard work, passion, and capability of youth. The India of 2047 will take shape through your determination, gain strength through your labour, and earn global respect through your character. The future of the nation does not lie in policy documents, but in your thoughts, conduct, and actions. When youth awaken, the nation naturally moves forward on the path of progress.

You are not merely students—you are symbols of the nation’s valour and resolve. When you wear this uniform, you dedicate yourselves to the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline.” Discipline is the value that transforms an ordinary citizen into a servant of the nation. Your character, spirit of service, and courage will become the foundation of a strong and united India.

    My dear cadets,

You are not only the future of the country—you are also the strength of present-day India. I firmly believe that through your hard work and dedication, you will not only enhance the glory of the NCC but will always remain ready to serve Mother India. Wherever you go and in whichever field you serve, you will raise the name of Uttarakhand and India with pride and honour.

In conclusion, once again, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you cadets for your outstanding performance. Your discipline, courage, and devotion to the nation are India’s greatest assets. May God always keep you steadfast on the path of national service. With best wishes for a bright, strong, and glorious future, I conclude my address.

    Jai Hind!
    Vande Mataram!
    Bharat Mata Ki Jai!
