03-01-2022:The benefits of space technology should reach the doorstep of the last person in the state – Governor

Shri MPS Bisht, Director, Uttarakhand Space Application Centre (USAC) met the Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at Rajbhawan today.

Governor was briefed on USAC efforts for improving the quality of life of the citizens of Uttarakhand, it’s endeavours to constantly devise ways in which it can better serve the state.

Governor directed that USAC shall strives to make the fruits of technology reach the doorstep of the last person, ensuring that the delicate fabric of this rich ecosystem is not eroded. Their endeavour shall be to ensure that natural resources, like land, water, forests, minerals and wildlife is protected, conserved, preserved and upgraded for the benefit of future generations.

Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) also directed that, In light of the exigency of tackling issues of environmental and climate change, USAC shall contribute to the widespread effort to control and ameliorate the consequences of climate change.
