02-11-2025:Governor presenting the book “Mountains of Labour; Currents of Change – Women’s Livelihood and Economic Transitions in the Himalayan Region and Uttarakhand” to the President.

Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh (Retd.) on Sunday presented the book “Mountains of Labour; Currents of Change – Women’s Livelihood and Economic Transitions in the Himalayan Region and Uttarakhand” to Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Niketan, Dehradun.

Prepared under the Governor’s initiative “One University, One Research,” the book highlights the livelihoods, economic transitions, and empowerment of women in Uttarakhand and the Himalayan region.

The publication is the outcome of a year-long research project by Doon University and has been co-authored by Vice Chancellor Prof. Surekha Dangwal, Prof. Rajendra P. Mamgain, and Ms. Shruti Dhaulndiyal. Vice Chancellor Prof. Surekha Dangwal was also present on the occasion.
