02-06-2026:On Address by the Hon’ble Governor on the Occasion of Telangana State Formation Day

    Publish Date : June 2, 2026

    Jai Hind!

Today is a sacred occasion celebrating Indian democracy, national unity, and our shared cultural consciousness. From the holy land of Uttarakhand—the Land of the Gods, with its majestic Himalayan peaks and sacred rivers—I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all of you on the occasion of Telangana State Formation Day.

Telangana is not merely a state; it is a vibrant symbol of glorious history, rich culture, extraordinary talent, and tireless hard work. Its land is filled with inspiring stories of courage, knowledge, and innovation. Its cultural heritage, natural wealth, and industrious people provide fresh energy to the entire nation.

This occasion reminds us that India is not just a collection of states but a living national consciousness. Our scriptures have regarded the nation as a mother. Therefore, our highest commitment must always be “Nation Above All.”

Although Uttarakhand and Telangana may be geographically distant, the patriotism that beats in our hearts is the same. Our aspirations are one. Our dreams are one. The unity, integrity, and prosperity of India are our shared goals. As long as the spirit of putting the nation first remains alive within us, no force can stop India’s progress.

Today’s event is a powerful symbol of the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India). Uttarakhand’s celebration of Telangana State Formation Day is a living example of our cultural unity. Our languages may differ, our attire may vary, but our soul is one. This is India’s greatest strength. This is our identity.

On this historic occasion, we pay our respectful tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. His remarkable vision, strong determination, and unwavering patriotism paved the way for the integration of the Hyderabad State into the Indian Union. By uniting hundreds of princely states, he laid the foundation of an integrated India. Even today, his life inspires us to remain dedicated to national unity.

The innovative tradition of celebrating the foundation days of states in public buildings across the country is the result of the visionary thinking of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. This initiative has strengthened cooperative federalism and deepened emotional bonds among the states. It teaches us that the achievement of one state is an achievement of the entire nation.

If we look at Telangana and Uttarakhand, both states possess unique identities. Uttarakhand is the land of spirituality, yoga, the Himalayas, and the origins of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. Telangana, on the other hand, is renowned for its historical grandeur, Kakatiya heritage, the magnificence of Charminar, and its rich wildlife. This diversity is India’s strength. It is a priceless heritage that we must preserve for future generations.

Our relationship is not limited to culture alone; it is also rooted in courage and sacrifice. Telangana has given birth to many great warriors and leaders, while Uttarakhand has consistently produced brave soldiers who have safeguarded the nation’s borders. This event is a celebration of the glorious traditions of both states. It is a festival that brings together valor and values.

This is the age of knowledge, science, and technology. Telangana, especially Hyderabad, has earned global recognition in information technology, innovation, biotechnology, and space science. The youth of Telangana are showcasing India’s talent across the world.

I firmly believe that the exchange of knowledge, skills, and innovation between the youth of Uttarakhand and Telangana should continue to grow. In the fields of startups, research, and entrepreneurship, both states can jointly set new benchmarks. Youth power is the greatest asset of a developed India.

We must always remember that the dream of a developed India can only be realized when every state in the country becomes strong and prosperous. Telangana’s progress is India’s progress. Uttarakhand’s success is India’s success. Only when every region of the country advances will India once again emerge on the world stage as a guiding force for humanity.

This celebration of Telangana State Formation Day reflects the spirit that regards the entire nation as one family. The principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The World is One Family) forms the foundation of Indian culture. We are all children of the same Mother India. Our collective progress lies in each other’s advancement.

    Brothers and Sisters,

Geographical distances can never diminish the closeness of hearts. Uttarakhand and Telangana are two strong pillars of the solid foundation of a united India. This foundation was built through the sacrifice, devotion, and dedication of our freedom fighters, great leaders, and sages.

Let us, on this sacred occasion, resolve together that while taking pride in our regional identities and cultural heritage, we will always place national interest above all else. Let us embrace the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” in our lives. Let us contribute wholeheartedly to the building of a developed India.

I extend my best wishes for the happiness, prosperity, good health, and bright future of all the people of Telangana. I am confident that Telangana will continue to set new milestones in the journey of nation-building and take India’s progress to even greater heights in the years to come.

Once again, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all of you on this Foundation Day.

Jai Hind! Jai Uttarakhand! Jai Telangana!
