    “Doon Handicraft Bazaar” a Strong Symbol of Women Empowerment and Social Service: First Lady Gurmeet Kaur

    First Lady Gurmeet Kaur inaugurated the “Doon Handicraft Bazaar 2026,” organized by Harshal Foundation at GMS Road, Dehradun, by lighting the ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, she also visited various stalls set up by women entrepreneurs.

    Addressing the gathering, the First Lady stated that the event is not merely a market or exhibition, but a powerful confluence of women empowerment, self-reliance, and social commitment. She remarked that the stalls reflect not just products, but the struggles, confidence, and aspirations of the women behind them.

    She appreciated the efforts of Harshal Foundation and said that the organization’s commitment towards uplifting marginalized sections of society, especially persons with disabilities, is commendable. She expressed satisfaction that the proceeds from the event are dedicated to the welfare of persons with disabilities.

    The First Lady highlighted that participation from women entrepreneurs from Dehradun, Vikasnagar, Haridwar, Roorkee, Saharanpur, and Indore reflects that the initiative to promote local products is growing into a wider movement. She appealed to the public to support women entrepreneurs and encourage local products.

    On this occasion, Dr. Rama Goyal shared details about the foundation’s activities and stated that the organization is working towards positive social change through education, healthcare, and skill development. Various competitions for children and women were also organized during the programme, where participants showcased their talents.
