Shri SK Sharma, Chief Engineer, Central Public Works Department, called on Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at Raj Bhawan on Saturday. Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) inquired about the construction works and projects being carried out by the Central Public Works Department in Uttarakhand. Governor asked CPWD to complete the construction works in the state in a time bound manner with high quality. He also discussed the role of modern technology, AI applications and IT in construction works. The Governor said that Uttarakhand can touch new heights of development and progress only on the foundation of strong infrastructure. The Central Public Works Department has a very important role in the infrastructure development of Uttarakhand. Being a tourism state, development of infrastructure and improving connectivity is the biggest demand of the time in Uttarakhand. Adequate importance should also be given to the development of the border areas of the state.
